A white label is a pressed record with a blank or minimal label: no artwork, no branding, just the music and maybe a stamp or a scribble. Labels press them as promos before release day; DJs press them because a plain 12" in a disco bag is the cheapest way to get a loud, durable club record made. A dubplate is a different thing: a one-off disc cut in real time on a lathe, quick to make and quick to wear out. A white label is the real, pressed article. It plays the same on the thousandth spin.

The louder you want the cut, the less music the side can hold. Shorter sides mean wider grooves, and wider grooves mean more level and more low end. That is the whole reason club 12"s run at 45. Drag the slider to see where your side length puts you.

A white label is a pressed record from stampers, made in a run, with plain labels. A dubplate is a single disc cut in real time on a lathe. Dubplates are faster to get and wear out with play; a pressed white label costs less per copy in a run and lasts like any other record.
