Splitting money between collaborators sounds like arithmetic anyone can do, and then a three-way equal split of a real payment produces thirty-three point three three three recurring and someone rounds each share separately. Now the three payouts do not add up to the original amount, and somebody is quietly owed a cent, or paid one that does not exist. Across a year of statements, that is how spreadsheet arguments start.
This calculator works in whole cents from the start. Every share is rounded down, then the leftover cents are handed to the largest remainders, one each, until the total matches the payment exactly. The method has a name, largest remainder, and it is how election seats and invoice line items get allocated for the same reason: the parts must equal the whole.
The parts mode is for how bands actually talk. Nobody in a rehearsal room says twenty-eight point five seven percent. They say one share each, and the producer gets two. Enter it that way and the percentages and payouts are worked out for you.

Percentages are for agreed splits that must total exactly 100. Parts are for equal-share thinking: one part per person splits evenly, and giving someone two parts doubles their share. The tool converts parts to percentages for you.
The calculator allocates in whole cents using the largest remainder method: round everyone down, then distribute the leftover cents to the largest fractional shares. Rounding each share separately can lose or invent cents; this cannot.
