How do I use the vinyl artwork templates?
Download the template for your format, build your artwork on it without resizing the artboard, and send it back as a flattened PDF. The measurements in each template are the ones the plant presses from, so a file built on the template lands print-ready first time.
All seventeen templates are on our vinyl artwork templates page, grouped by format. That page also carries the exact measurements and the four things to check before you export.
File format
- Send flattened PDF files at 300 dpi in CMYK or Pantone, built on our templates.
- Export as PDF/X-1a:2001 (PDF 1.3), without scaling and without compression. Other PDF versions can bring transparency problems to press.
- We do not accept .INDD, .PSD, .AI or any other working file. Supply the PDF.
Your print proof
You get a digital print proof before the card parts are printed, and approving it is the cut-off. Once it is approved, printing runs from that file, so read it closely. If your artwork is not being prepared by someone used to print-ready files, ask us to design it for you before you order.
Which template you need
7 inch: label pairs (UK), label (US style), single sleeve (spineless), sleeve with a 3mm spine, insert, obi strip.
12 inch: label pairs, discobag sleeve (standard and top loading), sleeves with 3mm, 5mm and 7mm spines, 3mm with two holes, gatefold, insert, obi strip, printed inner sleeve.
Not sure which spine you need? The spine width follows the record count and the sleeve style, and your quote names it. Ask for a quote and we will tell you which template to build on.
